This Privacy Policy explains how [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] (“Chopped,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you use the Chopped — AI Fit Check mobile app and this website (together, the “Service”). We’ve tried to keep it in plain language.
The short version
- You give us photos of your outfits so our AI can score them. That’s the core of the app.
- Photos are stored in your account using Google Firebase and are sent to Google’s Gemini AI to generate your score and feedback.
- We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use your photos for facial recognition.
- You can delete individual fits, or your whole account, at any time.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Outfit photos. Images you take or upload for a fit check or Fit Battle.
- Onboarding answers and preferences. Things like your style goals, which judge you picked and notification settings.
- Support messages. Anything you send us when you contact support.
Information created when you use the Service
- Scores and feedback. The verdicts, category scores, roasts and fixes generated for your fits, plus your history and streaks.
- Account identifiers. An anonymous or sign-in account ID provided by Firebase Authentication, and the email address if you choose to sign in with one.
- Device and usage data. App version, device type, operating system, crash logs, approximate region and how you use features. This helps us fix bugs and improve the app.
- Purchase information. Whether you have an active subscription or trial. Payments are processed by Apple or Google — we never see your full card details.
How we use your information
- To analyze your outfit photos and generate your score, roast and suggested fix.
- To save your fit history, streaks and preferences across sessions.
- To provide subscriptions, free trials and restore purchases.
- To send notifications you’ve opted into, like daily fit-check reminders.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To understand usage and improve the app.
We do not use your photos to identify you, and we do not create biometric templates or faceprints. [CONFIRM: whether photos or verdicts are ever used to train or evaluate models, and update this sentence.]
How your photos are processed
When you run a fit check, your photo is uploaded to secure cloud storage provided by Google Firebase (Cloud Storage and Cloud Firestore). Our servers then send the image to Google Gemini, an AI model provided by Google, which returns the score and feedback you see in the app. Google processes this data as our service provider under its applicable terms. [CONFIRM: Gemini API data-retention and training settings for our account.]
Who we share information with
We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- Service providers such as Google (Firebase hosting, storage, authentication, analytics and Gemini AI processing) and [SUBSCRIPTION / ANALYTICS PROVIDERS, e.g. RevenueCat].
- App stores (Apple and Google) to process purchases and subscriptions.
- When you choose to share. Share cards you post are visible to whoever you share them with. Once shared outside the app, we can’t pull them back.
- Legal and safety reasons, if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and others.
- Business transfers, if Chopped is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep your photos and verdicts for as long as your account is active so you can view your history. When you delete a fit, we delete its photo and verdict from our active systems. When you delete your account, we delete your photos, history and profile within [30] days, except where we must keep limited records for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.
Your choices and rights
- Delete fits anytime from your history in the app.
- Delete your account in the app’s settings, or email support@chopped.fit with the subject “Delete my account.”
- Notifications can be turned off in your device settings.
- Access, correction and portability. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK or certain U.S. states), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Email us to make a request — we’ll respond within the time required by law.
Children
Chopped is not directed to children under 13 [or 16 in the EEA/UK — CONFIRM minimum age], and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has used the Service, contact us and we’ll delete the data.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls and Firebase security rules that restrict each user’s photos to their own account. No system is perfectly secure, so please use the Service thoughtfully.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll let you know in the app or by other reasonable means before they take effect.
